Senate holds public hearing on N19.5bn aviation fund tomorrow

The Senate Committee on Aviation headed by Senator Anyim Ude will commence a public hearing into the expenditure of the N19.5 billion aviation intervention fund released to the sector under the administration of former President Olusegun Obasanjo.

A statement by the Clerk of the Committee, Mr. Victor Borishade, said on Sunday that the committee had engaged consultants to analyse the volumes of memoranda it received from the public.

“We had made previous efforts to get to the root of the discrepancies surrounding the N19.5 billion intervention fund released by the Federal Government in 2006 to revamp the aviation sector. We held consultative meeting in January with ministers and heads of government agencies in the sector,” he said.
