Southern gov lobbies tribunal judges with Ghana-Must-Go

A governor in one of the states in the South, who had had his election nullified by the election petition tribunal is currently traversing the nooks and crannies of the country with bags of Ghana-Must-Go.

The Ghana- Must -Go bags are believed to be loaded with US dollars intended to be used by the embattled governor to appease members of the Appeal tribunal to sway judgment in his favour.

At the center of the whole issue is one of the governor’s aide who runs errands for him.

The aide to the governor, according to information available to Sunday Tribune ,was sighted last Tuesday, March 18, 2008 delivering two heavy bags of Ghana- Must -Go filled with US dollars and pounds sterling to a person suspected to be a front.

The aide, according to Sunday Tribune sources, is a returnee from the United States, believed to be actively involved in the efforts to keep the embattled governor in office.

Sunday Tribune learnt further that prior to the moving of the hard currencies to one of the Northern states for a judge, the governor had in the aftermath of the nullification of his election constituted three separate inner room teams of six, three and nine men each to apply any measures, good or bad, to effect a reversal of the tribunal verdict when it comes up for review at the appellate court.

It was also learnt that, the six-man team is charged with assembling money and other materials which would be relayed to the three-man diaspora team, which in turn changes them into US dollars and British pounds.

The third team, sources revealed, is made up of retired judges of the same origin with the governor, who the embattled governor believes would use their knowledge of the judiciary to penetrate the Appeal Court where the last battle would be fought.

The lobbyist, Sunday Tribune gathered, is a boastful influence peddler who claimed he would create the passage. Therefore, the trip to the core Northern state, which the governor’s aide and the lobbyist undertook last Tuesday, March 18, 2008 is in fulfillment of the governor’s admonition.

According to the source, “it is a wonder to us that this governor, who claims to have sufficient popularity rating and clout to take to the field of electioneering is descending to merely making millionaires in this wild goose chase which at best will come to numb effect.”
