Group vows to rid highways of petrol trucks’ menace

Idowu Samuel, Abuja - 23.03.2008

A group known as the National Freight and Hauliers Association (NFHA) has indicated its resolve to assist the federal government in addressing the problem of trucks and petrol tankers that usually block major highways in Nigeria.

The group has also saddled itself with the task of facilitating the early completion of rail line project already embarked on by the federal government as part of its initiative aimed finding solutions to the problem of the transport sector in the country.

The newly installed National Executive Council of the group which held its meeting in Abuja during the week made this known to newsmen, as it expressed its preparedness to install a good haulage system in the country by controlling the activities of heavy duty trucks across the country.
