Fashola okays N84.4m for bursary awards

LAGOS State governor, Mr. Babatunde Fashola, has approved the payment of N84,470,000.00 to Lagos State indigenes in various tertiary institutions throughout the federation who are beneficiaries of 2006/07 bursary award and Lagos State University tuition fee.

According to a statement from the Secretary, Lagos State Scholarship Board, Mrs. Kudirat Odewale, after the opening ceremony to be declared by the Special Adviser to the governor on Education, Dr. Elijah Olu Adewale, payment would commence tomorrow.

She urged students to come for clearance, which began last Thursday and check their names either on the final list already pasted at the Scholarship Board and or on the Board website, as cash cards will only be released to awardees who have been cleared.

Relevant documents that would be needed for the clearance include school identity card, Lagos State Scholarship Board receipt of N500.00 obtained from Office of the Special Adviser on Education and every other document not submitted before and during the interview.
