Women Group Warns On Overseas Travelling

WOMEN Freedom Agenda (WFA), a non-governmental organisation, has called on Nigerians not to allow their children and wards to be lured abroad under the pretext of greener pasture.

Mrs Khafilat Kure, the chairperson of the NGO, briefing newsmen on the activities of the NGO, said the innocent boys and especially girls who are tricked abroad with the promises of a better life end up in some cases becoming prostitutes or drug peddlers and many of them end up either dead or in prison.

"Our innocent children who are tricked with a promise of a better life in Europe end up as hard drug peddlers or prostitutes. This tarnishes the country's image abroad," she said.

She further said that there are several cases of young boys and girls currently stranded in Europe and some other countries that her NGO is treating now.

"Currently, WFA is helping some girls among who are Sandra Amaka, Deborah Bukola Ariyibi, Kemi Oluyemi and others who are stranded in Europe, and we will leave no stone unturned in the effort to help them," she added.
