Adefarati’s Widow Advises Nigerians At Easter

NIGERIANS have been called upon to show more commitment toward achieving greater peace in the country.

The charge was contained in the Easter message delivered by the widow of the former governor of Ondo State, Deaconess Adetutu Adefarati, in Akungba Akoko during the week.

She described peace as the pivot upon which the development of any nation revolves. She blamed the seeming slow pace of development in the country to the great time and resources being directed to governance while people were not prepared to embrace love and tolerance for peaceful living.

While decrying the spate of violence and insecurity in the nation, Deaconess Adefarati posited that all these had continued to negate the peace process and eventually truncate development if not effectively contained.

On the first year remembrance programme of the death of her husband, she said that apart from other programmes of activities, a foundation would be launched in honour of the departed nationalist.

The events will be rounded off with a memorial service on Saturday 29th March at the Holy Trinity Anglican Church at 11 a.m.
