Fayose Storms Ekiti For Easter

22.03.2008

FORMER Governor of Ekiti State, Mr. Peter Ayodele Fayose, stormed Ado-Ekiti yesterday in a dramatic way that caught many of the Ado residents unawares.

Fayose, who came in a convoy of four cars, arrived the state at around 5 p.m. to the warm embrace of his teeming supporters who quickly recognised him as he entered the state capital.

The former governor, who entered through Iyin-Ekiti Road, drove through Basiri, Oja Oba and linked up with Oke Ila, then moved to Afao Ekiti, his home town.

The news of his arrival soon spread to every part of the city, as people started trooping out towards Oja Oba and Oke Ila to welcome him.

Many of the people who got information that the former governor had gone to Afao, had to move en-masse to Afao; and within a short time, Afao became a Mecca to the supporters who had come to welcome Fayose.

At his residence in Afao where he addressed the people, Fayose said that he had come to celebrate Easter at home.

He said that as a former governor and an elder statesman, he would continue to remain relevant in Ekiti politics. He implored his supporters to be law-abiding and shun any form of violence.
