OBJ, OGD, Dangote Storm Ibese

By Bayo Alade - 22.03.2008

IBESE Community in Yewa area of Ogun State will be agog this morning as the town celebrates the 50th coronation of its monarch, Oba Joel Bamgbose, Okukoye II.

Slated for chieftaincy titles as part of the celebrations are former President Chief Olusegun Obasanjo and Alhaji Aliko Dangote, among others.

Ibese community is looking forward to hosting a new cement factory with Chinese and Nigerian investors playing a great part – a business expected to generate employment for the indigenes of the town.

Chief Obasanjo is expected to bag the Apesin and Otaoroju titles of Ibeseland, and will be supported by Governor Gbenga Daniel of Ogun State, his wife Yeye Olufunke Daniel, Deputy Governor Salmat Badru, among others.

Speaking on behalf of his father, Prince Dare Bamgbose attributed the secret of his father’s longevity and peaceful reign to God whom he believes in and trusts absolutely.

Bamgbose added that the Kabiyesi’s relationship with other Yewa Obas was unique. This, he noted, was why 44 of them paid homage to him as part of the activities marking the coronation anniversary.
