Peoples Democratic Party has charged the Police to question leaders of the Action Congress in the state on their role in the June, 2007 bomb blast in the state secretariat.
The state Chairman of the PDP, Alhaji Ademola Rasaq, in a statement on Friday, expressed dismay that instead of the AC leaders, including Mr Rauf Aregbesola, explaining their relationship with the suspects in the bomb blast, they were making futile attempts to divert the attention of security agencies.
The PDP chairman referred to a letter circulated to the media on Friday by the AC, purportedly sent to the Inspector-General of Police alleging that PDP planned to cause mayhem in the state, and dismissed it as a childish way of begging the issue at hand.
According to him, Mr. Aregbesola and the other AC leaders should have the courage to tell the Police their relationship with the three individuals involved in the bomb blast incident, especially now that the suspect in police net has made a statement on oath alleging that they were the masterminds.
Alhaji Rasaq declared that attempts by the AC to introduce another false issue to divert attention from the bombing at the state secretariat would not work.
