Delta SSG’s father kidnapped

The father of Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, Secretary to the Delta State Government, Chief Arthur Okorie Okowa was on Sunday kidnapped by unknown men.

The victim was kidnapped at his residence in Agbor, Ika North East Local Government of area of the state.

Sources said the man was taken away in his own Kia car, sandwiched between two of the kidnappers at the back seat of the car while the remaining two kidnappers including the driver occupied the front seat as they whisked him away.

He was said to have been kidnapped after a little boy had been tied up by the kidnappers and locked him up in one of the rooms in the house.

Sources further disclosed that these unknown men came at about 11a.m, three of them, walked into his living room, and one of them mounted surveillance outside.” I didn’t even know that was what was going on, until the alarm was raised,” said a source.

When our correspondent visited the residence of the SSG, sympathizers were seen milling around the premises of the kidnapped Chief expressing shock and disappointment over the ugly incident.

The whereabouts of the kidnapped Chief was shrouded in mystery as nothing has been heard from the kidnappers as at the time of filing this report.

When the state commissioner of Police, Mr. Jacob Oshiomogho, could not be reached for comment, a police source in the state’s command Headquarters told the Nigerian Tribune, that the police had received the signal.
