Police recover cache of arms in Edo

THE Edo State police command has recovered a huge cache of arms and ammunition during a search operation in the South Ibie community in Etsako West Local Government Area of the state.

Sources at the state police command headquarters in Benin City, the state capital, said the cache included different cut-to-size guns, AK47 rifles, general purpose machine guns and grenades.

Meanwhile, an age-long kingship tussle for the stool of the Aidonogie of South Ibie, a community near Auchi, the headquarters of Estako West local government, had left the people of the community counting their losses, the latest being last week’s clash that led to the death of about 15 persons and the burning of houses.
