AC wants Adesina punished - They are joking - Lam

A faction of Oyo State chapter of the Action Congress (AC) on Tuesday called on the leadership of the party to deal with one of its leaders who was the former governor of the state, Alhaji Lamidi Adesina, for anti- party activities.

The state chapter, in a release made available to the Nigerian Tribune on Tuesday by the deputy Chairman of the party, Prince Tunji Adeoye, accused Adesina of “flagrant disobedience to party directives in the last Saturday’s local government election in the state and called for the party to discipline him on the untowards acts.”

But Alhaji Adesina chided Adeoye, saying that he was not a member of the AC.

In the release, Adeoye said despite the directive by its national body that no member should participate in the local government election, “Adesina deliberately led campaigns to encourage and ensure that some misguided members of the party contested in the election.”

He described the act as “gross indiscipline and abuse of the constitution and standing orders of the party, adding that “Adesina’s accusation of election rigging by the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) merely amounted to shedding crocodile tears and a face device to cover up his avarice and political ineptitude.”

Adeoye, therefore, demanded that “adequate punitive measure would be taken against erring members to reassure party’s claim to popular acceptance by the masses.”

Reacting to Adeoye’s comments, former Governor Adesina said Adeoye had no status in the AC, describing him as an imaginary politician.

He said he (Adesina) was in charge of the party in Oyo State, adding that “the party leadership knows who is in charge of the Ac in Oyo State. Adeoye is not a member of our party.”
