Bauchi Deputy Speaker Denies Impeachment Move Against Dep Gov

Deputy Speaker of the Bauchi State House of Assembly, Honourable Musa Mohammed Pali, has denied any involvement in the alleged move to impeach the deputy governor, Garba Mohammed Gadi.

He called on anyone that has the proof to make it public. The alleged impeachment move against the deputy governor is said to be connected with his refusal to defect to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), alongside Governor Isa Yuguda.

Pali, reacting to a newspaper publication (not any of the Tribune titles) linking him to the alleged move, absolved himself.

He said “the story is unfounded, baseless and a move to smear my good image as the deputy speaker of the Assembly.

“I challenge anyone that has proof that such a meeting was held in my house or anywhere else with me in attendance to please come out and tell the public.”

He added that: “I have been away from Bauchi State in the last three weeks. I just came back and has not even attended the sitting of the House. So, where was the said meeting held and who and who were there? Was there any document which was signed before the alleged N10 million was given out to those who are in support of the said move to impeach the deputy governor?

I was only called by friends who read the said newspaper.” Pali wondered why someone would sit down somewhere and manufacture what he described as a white lie which could not be proved because, according to him, “the governor has no right to commence impeachment process on his deputy. It is only the House which can do that and we have not seen any reason to embark on such a venture.”
