Photo: Getty Images SUPER Eagles head coach, Shuaibu Amodu, has expressed confidence his team will go for broke and the three points at stake in tomorrow’s 2010 World Cup qualifier against Tunisia at the November 7 Stadium in Rades, near Tunis.
The Carthage Eagles of Tunisia lead Group Two of the combined World Cup and African Nations Cup qualifying tournament with six points from two matches, while Nigeria is two points adrift after a draw in Mozambique and a home win over Kenya two weeks ago.
“I have watched video clips of the Tunisians and I can say that they are beatable right there at their backyard,” Amodu said.
“We now know how they play and so know how to approach the game and get the necessary win in Tunis.
“We need to win to be in the driver’s seat. We missed out on the last World Cup and now we don’t want to miss out on the first World Cup to be played in Africa.”
Amodu added: “I believe in my players and I’m also happy with the high level of discipline they have shown. We cannot afford to lose this match. A draw won’t be too bad, but our target is to win.”
Meanwhile,the Eagles arrived Tunis some minutes past 6 am on Thursday and logded at the Laico Hotel in Tunis. They left Malta, where they had a training stint, at about 5.00 am.
