NUC accredits 11 courses at Igbinedion varsity

The National Universities Commission (NUC) has granted full accreditation to all the 11 programmes run in the Igbinedion University Okada (IUO), Edo State, according to the results of the last accreditation exercise carried out by the commission in November 2007.

The programmes which received the full accreditation status were Law, Accounting, Banking and Finance, Business Administration, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mass Communication, and Economics and Development Studies.

These were in addition to Medicine, Political Science, Computer Science, among others, which were fully accreditation in 2006.

The vice chancellor of the university, Professor Eghosa Osaghae, told newsmen on Tuesday in Benin City that the full accreditation status now being enjoyed by these programmes, which was for a period of five years, bore testimony to the quality and standards of academic staff, curricula, physical facilities.
