FCT minister offers employment to 5 ex-corps members

TO encourage selfless service to the nation and rekindle the hope that hard work pays, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Dr. Aliyu Modibbo Umar, has offered automatic employment to five of the youth corps members who distinguished themselves when they served in the FCT.

The minister gave this directive on Monday at the FCT Executive Committee meeting in Abuja.

He assured all Nigerians that there was hope and that any contribution made to the development of the FCT and the country in general, however small would be recognised and rewarded.

Dr. Umar charged all residents of the FCT to always put in their best in whatever position they found themselves, reiterating that such contributions would make the society better.

While promising continuous support to the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), he advised the NYSC officials to remain above board by being fair and transparent in selecting award winners so that “the best will always be the best.”

The minister presented a brand new Toyota Hilux to the Director General of NYSC for the use of the FCT NYSC office to reduce their logistic problems.

Responding, the Director General of NYSC, Brigadier-General Yusuf Bomai, thanked the Minister for the gesture and challenged the 36 state governors of the federation to emulate the good work of the Minister.
