BETRAYAL OF TRUST: How packaging company’s staff invited bandits to rob their company

The suspects invited to rob the company.Two members of staff of a packaging company based in Lagos who organised a gang of about twelve armed robbers to rob their company have been arrested by the police while other members of the gang that injured four security men on duty on the day of the robbery attack have also been arrested

Shola Rollings and Gbenga Omoegbe the two members of staff of Positive packaging Company showed the Judas stuff in them as they could not give any reason for embarking on such a mission Nasiru Ojomu, Alkazeem, Muri Adewole, Segun Adeniran, Hammed Adekunle, Tosin Afonja, John Idogbe and Benedict Ope had a few days ago invaded the aforementioned packaging company in Ilupeju area of the state and injured four security men on duty before they found their way into the company’s store and made away with 400 bags of Granus chemical materials used for producing polythene products worth over N5million.

Crime File reliably gathered that the robbers had forced their way into the company’s premises when a distress call was received by the Divisonal police officer in charge of Ilupeju Divional Police Station while a team of anti-robbery policemen were immediately drafted to the scene.

On getting to the scene of the incident, about eight of the robbers were said to have escaped with the stolen materials estimated to be about ten tonnes. While four of them were still waiting to have a clean up on their job, Crime File gathered that the police swooped on them and also ensured that the runaway members were trailed.

Crime File reliably gathered that preliminary investigation by the police led to the arrest of other members of the gang who all resided in Sango Ota area of Ogun state while some of the weapons used for the operation were recovered from them. The police also arrested Nasiru Ojomu and Alkazeem who allegedly received the stolen raw materials from the bandits

Shola Rollings, a member of staff of the company while speaking with the Crime File confessed to have committed the offence but blame it largely on the devil. According to him “what we did was bad but I can say that it is the devil’s work.” He also stated that they organised the robbery not because they were not being paid well by the company .

According to Shola who claimed to be a member of the maintenance department of the company, “one Gbenga who worked in the factory had approached me on the idea of getting people to rob the company”. He claimed that Gbenga had enquired from him if he had any idea of where they could sell the materials as fast as possible. He also informed the Crime File that he responded to Gbenga’s question that he had no idea of where such materials were being sold.

He further confessed that he played along in the plan to rob the company when he supported the plan of getting a gang of robbers to invade the company and take away the materials. The robbers eventually struck on the 3rd and 4th of February and injured the security men on duty before taking away the raw materials.

In a chat with Crime File, Gbenga confessed to have initiated the idea to rob the company. He stated that he had informed Shola of the availability of the raw materials. He also informed CrimeFile that most of the people who pertook in the robbery were residents of his area in Sango Ota.

Others members of the gang while speaking with Crime File confessed to have committed the crime but blamed it all on the devil.
