Ogun Deputy Speaker suspended

State House of Assembly, who also represents Odogbolu Constituency, Honourable Remi Hassan, has been suspended as a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). The process of his beign recalled has been set in motion.
He was suspended for playing a leading role with other 14 members of the House to sabotage the efforts of the state government.
The Deputy Chairman of PDP in Odogbolu Local Government Area, Prince Adetokunbo Shabi, on Tuesday, at the party’s secretariat in Odogbolu, after an emergency meeting of the extended executive committee, moved a motion to pave the way for passing a vote of no confidence, the suspension and setting in motion the machinery for Hassan’s recall.
Prince Shabi alleged that Hassan committed various offences ranging from refusal to attend party meetings to insubordination to party leaders by refusing eight separate invitations extended to him.
Other allegations levelled against the Deputy Speaker included associating with some people in the state House of Assembly to create unnecessary tension in the po-lity borne out of greed for personal aggrandisement, his leadership role in an effort by some people in the House of Assembly to sabotage the laudable programmes of the state government in bringing more dividends of democracy for the people and total disregard for party structures and discipline.
