We’ll sustain our global expansion scheme – Oceanic Bank

The plan by the Oceanic Bank International Plc to have presence in the continents of the world is in progress and will soon be actualised.

Chief Executive of the bank, Dr. (Mrs.) Cecilia Ibru, said this at the weekend while fielding questions from a cross section of foreign media in her office.

She said the bank’s policy direction was to rank among the top global players in the banking and finance industry in the next few years

She said the bank was on the global path with a view to making impact and promoting the tradition of excellence associated with its services.

Ibru reiterated the bank’s determination to sustain its leadership position in the banking sector. Towards achieving this vision, she said the bank would continue to tap into opportunities provided by the economic reconstruction programme of the Federal Government.

According to her, the economic blueprint of the government, which sought to position the country among the top 20 economies of the world in 2020, provided opportunities for banks like the Oceanic Bank.

“Oceanic Bank already has a well thought-out projection as to where the bank would be by 2015 long before the banks’ consolidation and the economic blue- print of the government,” she added.
