FG to close 3rd Mainland Bridge Aug 2

THE partial closure of the Third Mainland Bridge earlier scheduled for midnight/ Thursday and early morning today has been postponed to 12 noon August 2. This new date was arrived at on Thursday, at a crucial stakeholders meeting held at the conference room of the former Federal Ministry of Works Tafawa Balewa Square (TBS), Lagos.

Present at the meeting were a delegation of the Federal Ministry of Transportation led by the Federal Controller of Works, Mr. Tunde Ekunsumi, on the one hand, and the Special Adviser to the Lagos State Governor on Transport, Mr. Kayode Opeifa, who led a host of other officials and agencies of the state including LAMATA’S Managing Director, Dr. Omoboriola, LASTMA officials, former Commissioner of Police of Lagos, Mr. Arabame, representative of the State Police Commissioner and Federal Road Safety Commission officials on the other hand.

Other stakeholders especially those on the Iddo – Oyingbo axis that were supposed to carry the overflow from the Eko bridge were led by the Group Technical Co-ordinator of A.G. Leventis Plc, Dr. Timothy A. Ibidapo. The stakeholders included Mainland Hotels, AG Leventis plc, Consolidated Breweries Plc., NBC, Union Bank Oyingbo, First Inland Bank, Iddo, Diamond Bank Oyingbo, Frigoglass Industries Limited, UBA Oyingbo, Intercontinental Bank, Oyingbo among others.
