14-yr-old Nigerian drowns in US - Man commits suicide in Lagos

A 14-year-old Nigerian, Ifechukwu Odenigbo, has drowned while swimming in a lake in Danbury, Connecticut, United States of America.
The police said Odenigbo was pulled from the waters of Lake Waubeeka on Wednesday afternoon, adding that the boy was found after a 45-minute search.He was rushed to Danbury Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
According to its website, Lake Waubeeka is a private community in the southern part of Danbury that includes hundreds of acres of woodland, homes and a 50-acre lake.
Also, inhabitants of Shangotedo in Lekki area, off Ajah, Lagos, on Wednesday received the shock of their lives as a resident of the area was found hanging from the roof of an uncompleted building in the area.
The deceased, identified as Akeem Olugbade, a resident of No. 6 Osagie Close, Shangotedo, Ajah, was found with a rope tied to his neck and dangling from the roof of an uncompleted building in the area
Nigerian Tribune was informed that the deceased might have killed himself over an issue being investigated by the Lagos State police command
Nigerian Tribune also gathered that the suicide committed by the deceased might not be unconnected with the misunderstanding between the late Akeem and his wife
The deceased was said to have, a few days to his death, been having unresolved misunderstanding with his wife while all efforts to settle the quarrel ended in futility
Residents who saw the deceased in the early hours of the day, claimed that he had looked dejected unknown to them that he made up his mind to take his life.
The Public Relations Officer of the state police command, Frank Mba, while confirming the report to the Nigerian Tribune, stated that policemen had, visited the scene of the incident
Mba also added that the remains of Olugbade had been removed and deposited at the public mortuary for autopsy while investigations had commenced on the matter.
