FCT to strengthen primary health care facilities

THE Federal Capital Territory (FCT) administration has concluded arrangements to strengthen all primary health care facilities in the FCT to enable residents at the grassroots benefit from their operations.

The FCT Minister, Dr. Aliyu Modibbo Umar, who disclosed this on Monday, said this was part of the decisions reached at this weeks’ FCT Executive Committee meeting in Abuja.

The minister reiterated that the exco took the decision to reduce the burden on the secondary health care centres in the FCT and allow them concentrate on their primary roles.

According to him, the FCT administration would collaborate with the six area councils of the territory which were constitutionally expected to provide primary health care to the people.
