Federation of Nigeria (YSFON) has commiserated with the governor of Osun State, Chief Olagunsoye Oyinlola and the Chief of Naval Staff, Rear Admiral Ganiyu Adekeye, over the death of golfer cum sports philanthropist, (Rtd) Rear Admiral David Baderin Alabi.
According to the National President of YSFON, Alhaji Jamiu Tunde Ojulari, the contributions of the founder of Eripa Tennis Club to the development of sports, especially golf, will not be forgotten.
“He was such an unassuming, humble, diligent, harworking and catalysing person whose love for sports is legendary. “The YSFON family deeply sympathises with Governor Oyinlola, the Chief of Naval Staff, Rear Admiral Ganiyu Adekeye as well as the traditional rulers and the people of Eripa over the death of one of their illustrious sons.
“He (Alabi) has indeed lived a life worthy of emulation and his invaluable contributions to the growth of sports will always be of immense benefit to the coming generations,” the YSFON boss said.
The former Chief of Accounts and Budget, Nigerian Navy, it would be recalled, was recently honoured by the Eripa Community in Osun State with the chieftaincy title of Oluomo of Eripaland.
