Oni Bombs Fayose - Says He’ll Live To Pay For His Crimes

THE Governor of Ekiti State, Engineer Segun Oni, has described the allegation of threat to life made by Mr. Ayodele Fayose, a former governor of the state, against him, as nonsensical, saying it is expected that Fayose who is currently facing multipe murder charges, should be worried and “whatever he is saying does not amount to much, I personally don’t think it’s worth talking about,” he said.

Governor Oni, who spoke with the Saturday Tribune in Ado-Ekiti stated that with the burden of murder charges on Fayose’s mind, the next thing for him should be to surrender himself for trial.

According to Governor Oni, anyone with multiple murder cases, such as Fayose, stands the chance of being tried, and eventually convicted.

“If someone has multiple murder charges on his hand, it means there is a probability, however slim, of being tried and convicted. And if the probablity of an occurrence is one in a million, then it can occur.” In the case of Fayose, the governor said there was the possibility that “if he is tried and found guilty, he (Fayose) could be condemned to eternal shame.”

Debunking the allegation of threat to life made by Fayose, Governor Oni queried why anyone would try to kill the former governor and save him the embarrassment of paying for his crimes. According to him, Fayose deserved to live to pay dearly for his crimes.

“Anybody trying to kill a man who has multiple murder charges on his hand is trying to save him from eternal shame. Fayose does not deserve to die now; he deserves to live and be tried and face the consequencies of his previous actions, because dead men don’t know consequences,” he said.

Describing the allegation as laughable, the governor said he did not care a hoot what happened to Fayose after his trial, but was only interested in justice being done in the cases of murder against the former governor.
