MTN Restores Hope For 6-year -Old Amputee

Hope has returned for a six-year-old boy, Abuchi Ejinkonye, whose arms were gruesomely severed by his uncle, as he returned from Ottobock, Germany, with a new set of prosthetic arms, courtesy of Nigeria’s leading telecommunications company, MTN.

Abuchi, accompanied by his mother, Rose, and the Head Surgeon of the National Orthopaedic Hospital, Enugu, Dr. Cajetan Nwadinigwe, recently arrived into the waiting hands of MTN staff led by Mr. Andrew Okeleke, External Communications Manager, at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja.

Commenting on the issue, Amina Oyagbola, the Corporate Services Executive said that MTN was moved by the unfortunate plight of Abuchi.

She said the company was particularly inspired by the “Can-Do-Spirit” exhibited by the boy when he was shown on the NTA programme, Newsline. Mrs Oyagbola also noted that the “Can-Do-Spirit” is one of MTN’s core values.
