ECOWAS Council Of Ministers Holds Mid-Year Meeting In Abuja Today

THE 60th ordinary session of the ECOWAS Council of Ministers will today hold in Abuja, 17th and 18th May, 2008 at the ECOWAS Commission.

The Council, comprising of ministers responsible for regional integration and ECOWAS matters in West Africa, will consider the 2008 interim report of the President of the ECOWAS Commission and the status of implementation of tasks assigned to the Commission and ECOWAS institutions by regional leaders.

A statement from the commission in Abuja on Friday said “The President’s report captures the various activities of the Commission and institutions of the Community during the first six months of 2008.”

In addition, the Ministers will consider the report of the Audit Committee of the Institution, an advisory body set up to advise the Council on the financial management of Community resources.
