Over One Million Sit For UME In 1,979 Centres Today

A total of 1,054,043 candidates will sit for the Universities Matriculation Examination which holds today.

The examination which is organized by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) will hold in 1979 centres all over the country.

According to the Registrar of the board, Prof. Dibu Ojerinde, the number of candidates sitting for this year’s examination is a 15 per cent increase over the 2007 figure of 911,679.

The Registrar said that the board had put everything in place to ensure that today’s examination goes hitch-free in all the centres.

The examination starts at 9.00 am.
