US, Canadian govts deport 92 Nigerians

NINETY-TWO Nigerians were on Wednesday deported to the country from United States of America and Canada amid tight security.

The deportees, who arrived aboard a combined special flight, were received at the cargo terminal side of the international wing of the Murtala Muhammed Airport, about 4.30p.m.

According to immigration sources, out of the 92 deportees,18 were deported for their involvement in drug related cases while the remaining 77 were found guilty of immigration and other crime related offences.

The 18 deportees, who were guilty of drug trafficking, were at once taken in a white bus to the premises of the National Drug Law and Enforcement Agency(NDLEA) for interrogation.

While those not found guilty of any offence were allowed to go home, others with less criminal cases were also handed over to the police who were already on ground.
