ICPC chairman challenges students on integrity

THE Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) Chairman, Justice Emmanuel Ayoola, on Wednesday in Abuja challenged students to join hands with the commission in cultivating a culture of integrity.

Ayoola made the call during an interactive session with the students of Government Secondary School, Karu, near Abuja and Government Modern Secondary School, Suleja, Niger State.

He pointed out that a greater number of Nigerians were people of high integrity with a few involved in various acts of corruption. “It is this few that have damaged our hard-earned image and given the world the impression that our country is a nation of corrupt people, fraudsters and advanced fee fraud experts.

“We must come together as a nation of people with integrity to neutralise these minority by joining the vanguard in the fight against corruption.

“Each of you as students should be a fighter against corruption,” he said. According to him, the students should start from their institution by exposing examination cheats and those involved in cultism in their various institutions.

“I believe through these joint efforts, we can bring Nigeria back to the age of integrity as experienced in the past,’’ he said.
