Ara marries hubby June 6 in Lagos

Ara and hubby, Nurudeen Saliu FIRST female talking drum mer of repute in Nigeria, Lola Ola, popularly known as Ara, will be formerly getting married to her lover and father of her only son in Lagos on June 6.

Ara informed R&B in a chat that her hubby, Nurudeen Saliu, is the best thing to have happened to her and her career and that they are planning the wedding in a big way.

The relationship between Ara and Nurudeen has come a long way and it has produced a son, named Maleeq.

Ara is the first female talking drummer of repute in the country. She started singing and drumming at the very tender age of five and decided to get serious with music about 20 years ago. She tried her hands on different genres of music, including Afro-beat as Lola Ola, but in the year 2000 she became Ara, coined from her real name.

Ara has taken her music across the world, having performed in Ghana, UK, Paris, and various states in the USA. Ara has performed before the Queen of England, and she has also performed alongside big names in the industry including Wyclef Jean and the legendary Stevie Wonder, whom she also featured on his current album A time to love on the track If Your Love Cannot Be Moved. She played three different percussions on this track.

‘Kissmix Groove with Timaya & Friends’ comes to Ibadan

TimayaPHREJOE Media Concept and Dynamix Entertainment have both concluded arrangement to wake up the sleepy town of Ibadan. Both entertainment and events packaging companies are organising an entrtainment event tagged; “Kissmix Groove with Timaya and Friends” on June 14.

Slated for Jogor Center, Liberty Road, the event is aimed at bringing professionals together under a relaxed atmosphere ofgood music and humour.

In a chat with Miss Freda Anegbe of Phrejoe Media Concept, one of the organisers of the event, she said this would be the first time Timaya would be performing in Ibadan “that’s why we’re leaving no stone unturned to ensure the success of the show.

“The event will also have the likes of Wande Coal, MI, Eldee, Jahbless, G-7, Jayru, Wale Waves, Teju Baby Face, Jedi, Princess, Basket mouth, Omo Baba and Landlord. While it will be compered by MC Abbey and Funke Akindele.

TTA Records set to release Queen Bebra’s debut album

From Dublin to Lagos to Atlanta, True Talent Records Africa has come to stay and has emerged as one of the hottest players in the entertainment industry, signing talented artists from all genres of music.

One of the acts on True Talent Records label is Afro-Highlife star, Jesse King, whose music was recently endorsed by one of the greatest drummers around today, Larry Mullen, of the renowned U2 band.

According to Mr. Ahmed Ogunbanwo, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) True Talent Records Africa, the recording label has its international office in Atlanta, Georgia, United State, which is being managed by its Executive Director (international), Bishop Adejube, while the Lagos and Africa office is managed by Mr. Moshood Adegboro, the operations manager.

Queen Bebra’s new single, which is to be released in due course will take the music industry — both in Nigeria and abroad— by storm.

As a result, lovers of music in the country are eagerly awaiting the release of QB’s album.

Femo Lancaster launches album June 7

POPULAR Ibadan based juju crooner, Femi Fadipe, popularly known as Femo Lancaster, is set to release his second album. Entitled; Top Up, the album launch comes up at the Banquet Hall of Premier Hotel on Sunday, June 6.

The album launch will have Yinka Ayefele, Gbenga Adenuga, Shola Allyson and other artistes performing.

Popular financial and tax consultant, Otunba Olusola Adekanola, is the chief launcher and will be supported by Mrs Olajumoke Harb, Lola Olabayo, Chiefs Adebayo Adeyanju and Adebayo Adeleke.
