Halliburton: We won’t cover up any indicted person - FG

The Federal Government on Tuesday said it had no reason to cover up any indicted person over the Halliburton bribery scandal, adding that it will remain focused and committed to achieving zero tolerance for corruption.

The Attorney-General of the Federation (AGF) and Minister of Justice, Chief Mike Aondoakaa, in a statement through his Special Assistant, Onov Tyuulugh, condemned the opposition party that accused him of shielding corrupt Nigerians from prosecution and called for his resignation from office.

The Action Congress (AC) had, on Monday, accused the AGF of protecting those indicted in the bribery scandal and called for his resignation.

According to the statement, such calls were distractions intended to scare and cow him into abandoning the pursuit of justice.
