Ekiti gov rerun: OPC warns against multiple voting

The Oodua Peoples Congress (OPC) in Ekiti State has asked the electorate to ensure one-man-one-vote in the April 25 governorship rerun in the state.

This is just as it warned that any person or group planning to rig the election should drop the plan or face the wrath of the people.

The OPC made this call on Tuesday in Ado-Ekiti when its state chairman, Mr. Adeniyi Adedipe, spoke with journalists in the state.

He said the group would enforce the one-man-one-vote policy to ensure that the electorate was not short-changed at the polls.

Adedipe also commended the acting governor, Honourable Olatunji Odeyemi, for remaining neutral so far, while calling on stakeholders to cooperate with him to ensure the conduct of a free and fair election.

Speaking through his Personal Assistant, Mr. Tunji Adeyemo, Adedipe also commended President Umaru Yar’Adua for his maturity during the campaign held in the state, while appealing to him to discountenance any plan to wreak another electoral fraud on the people of the state.
