PDP Sets Up Two Committees For Kogi, Adamawa Gov Repeat Polls

15.03.2008

National Chairman of the PDP, Prince Vincent Ogbulafor, has announced the setting up of two campaign committees to ensure the party’s victory at the gubernatorial repeat elections in Kogi and Adamawa states.

Ogbulafor spoke in Abuja when former governors Ibrahim Idris of Kogi and Murtala Nyako of Adamawa led PDP stakeholders to collect their nomination forms for the contest.

He said that Vice-President Goodluck Jonathan would head the National Campaign Committee for Adamawa, while the party’s Board of Trustees’ Secretary, Abdullahi Adamu would chair that of Kogi.

“PDP is a very solid party, and we believe in the rule of law. This is why we respect all court judgments on elections.

“We did not lose any of the elections because of any fault of ours, but as a result of technicalities,” he said.

Ogbulafor, who spoke glowingly of Idris and Nyako, charged the duo to continue to deliver democracy dividends to the people.

“We are going to go into the elections and we shall win,” he added, saying that the two governors were strong leaders.

Before the presentation of nomination forms to the candidates, the PDP boss had a two-hour closed-door meeting with a delegation from Adamawa.
