Old Students Appeal For School Facility

15.03.2008

The Old Students’ Association of African Church Grammar School, Abeokuta, has appealed to the Ogun State Government to provide more classrooms for the school.

Rising from a two-day 2008 Presidential Retreat of the association in Ota, Ogun State recently, the National President of the Association, Mr. Olubodun Oke, said the appeal became necessary because of the acute shortage of classrooms available to the growing population of the school.

Reading from the report of a meeting earlier held with the school authorities where the needs of the school were highlighted, the national president said of all the areas of needs of the school, the issue of classroom was the most critical.

He observed that the association had contributed to the upliftment of the school. These included construction of many classroom blocks, construction of staff rooms, provision of sporting facilities and recently the provision of a brand new bus for the school during her 50th Anniversary in 2005.

Mr. Oke, however, lamented that just as more classrooms were being built, the school’s population had kept increasing, thus making changes in infrastructural facilities unclear.
