Group Lauds Yar’Adua On PDP Convention

A group known as National Support Forum For Yar’Adua, Jonathan Presidency (NSYJP) has commended President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua for the successful conduct of the National Convention of the Peoples Democratic Part (PDP).

According to the group, Yar’Adua deserves commendation on the outcome of the convention in view of his non-interference, stressing that he had by that proved himself again as being committed to the principle of transparency, due process and rule of law in Nigeria.

It also condoled with the president on the death of Emir of Katsina, praying that the president, government and the people of Katsina would have the fortitude to bear the loss.

The group, in a press statement signed by its Women’s Leader, Chief Mrs Adenike Lawal, said Nigeria had been witnessing progress in democracy.

The group noted that the last PDP national convention was the first of its kind in Nigeria that had been held with little rancour among members.

It commended aspirants to for the post of National Chairman of the party for their spirit of sportsmanship, which it said each of them demonstrated during the convention.

The group congratulated the newly installed National Working Committee of the PDP, headed by Prince Vincent Ogbulafor, calling on it to take advantage of the relative peace and tranquility in the ruling party to embark on laudable initiatives.
