A former Attorney
General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Chief Richard Akinjide, described the death of Chief Benson as a great loss not only to the country but also to the entire Yoruba race.
He descibed the late TOS Benson as a great Nationalist and a great lawyer.
According to Chief Richard Akinjide, Chief TOS Benson was one of the leaders who helped Nigeria in getting her independence from Britain.
''He was already a lawyer before I went to study law and in politics, he was my leader,” chief Akinjide added.
In his reaction, a one-time Minister of Information in the country, Chief Alex Akinyele, described Chief TOS Benson as a credible leader.
"We shall remember him for his flamboyant appearance and his great sense of humour," he said.
He further remarked that the late TOS Benson was a tribeless gentleman who was not a rioutous politician, saying he would dearly miss him.
Lagos Lawyer and human rights activist, Mr. Bamidele Aturu in his own reaction described Chief Benson's death as “very unfortunate,” saying the nonagerian had however made his mark.
Chief TOS Benson(SAN) died yesterday in his Ikoyi home.
