Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has called on the Lagos State governor, Mr. Babatunde Fashola, to take initiative from God for all his activities this year.
He made the call during the state’s annual thanksgiving ceremony in Lagos on Sunday night.
In his opening speech, Fashola had urged the people of the state to be patient with him, saying that the state government would fulfill all its promises soon.
In his sermon, Pastor Adeboye urged the government to take initiative from God, adding that “my desire for this government is that every prayer it prays, God answers. I implore you to allow God to take the initiative for this year. Do something good to make God to visit you.”
Adeboye likened Governor Fashola to the Biblical little Solomon who did not dream of becoming a king but spent a lot of time to praise God after he got to the throne.
He advised Fashola to spend much of his tenure to praise God, adding that through his praises, God would do tremendous things he did not even bargain for.
According to Pastor Adeboye, “there is a time limit for asking. There is a time limit to seeking the Lord. “Knocking also has limitation because you can only knock a door when you know it. If only we can put aside all various asking, seeking and knocking but be grateful to God, the Almighty will in turn ask what you want for the future.”
He described the thanksgiving service as an attitude by the state government to show gratitude to God who has been answering its prayers, adding that God had empowered the government to serve the people diligently and justly.
