Fresh MAPOLY students to pay N80,000 as tuition fees

Olayinka Olukoya, Abeokuta - 15.01.2008

Fresh students seeking admission into Moshood Abiola Polytechnic (MAPOLY) may likely not take up the admission into the institution based on the recent hike in school fees.

The new students were to pay about N80,000 on the average for Ordinary National Diploma (OND) and Higher National Diploma (HND) programmes of the school.

The Ogun State governor, Chief Gbenga Daniel, while featuring on a live broadcast programme on Paramount FM, Abeokuta, promised different callers on the issue that the state government would look into it.

The new students were expected to pay N20,500 as acceptance fee which was non-refundable and were expected to pay on or before Thursday, January 17, or forfeit the admission.

Some of the students were not likely to pick up the admission letters because of the high rate in the fees, describing the step by the institution’s management as “insensitive.”

They called on the state government to come to their aid by asking the institution authorities to reverse the fees so as not to discourage admission seekers into the school.
