Berlusconi wants Sheva back

14.07.2008

MILAN president, Silvio Berlusconi has decided he wants to bring back Andriy Shevchenko, who is willing to cut his paycheck for a move back to San Siro.

Silvio Berlusconi has decided he wants Andriy Shevchenko back at Milan immediately.

During a meeting held with his right-hand man, Adriano Galliani, who talked about the negotiations for Emmanuel Adebayor, the Rossoneri’s number one wanted to re-open the doors to the Ukrainian “lost son”.

Galliani did not lose any more time and flew to Sardinia to meet with Chelsea manager, Peter Kenyon, enquiring about the London club’s willingness to sell him and its requests.

After saying for a long time that Shevchenko only would have returned to Milan on loan, it appears it has now changed its minds. Certainly, the investment it would have to make now would be nothing compared to the 50 million euros Chelsea paid to get him in 2006.

Andriy will also have to make things easier by allowing to get paid less than what he gets now (around 8 million euros), accepting a salary of 5 million euros, which is what he received during his earlier stint with Milan. But Shevchenko has already made the Via Turati management know that the salary reduction will not pose a big problem.
