‘God still wants to use Adedibu’

The recent recovery of a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Oyo State, Alhaji Lamidi Adedibu, from an undisclosed ailment has been described as “a pointer to the fact that whatever misgivings one may have concerning the politician, God still wants to use him for the good of the common man in the state and the coming generation.”

Speaking at a thanksgiving service organised by some indigenes of the state resident in Stevenage, Hertfordshire, in the United Kingdom, under the aegies of Adedibu Beneficiaries in the UK, to celebrate the recovery of the politician, the group’s coordinator and president, Alhaji Lekan Omotoyosi, said “we are gathered here today to celebrate God’s mercy on our baba.”

“We were all monitoring his health condition in Nigeria and when he was finally discharged from the hospital, we found it expedient to thank God for His mercies over our baba.

“We are not only gathered here for merry making, but to also appreciate God for His mercies.

“We were even happier when we read that baba is now back on his beat, through a press conference where he debunked the rumour of his incapacitation,” he said.

According to Omotoyosi, “baba means a lot to most of us here and those who have been wishing him dead are not being fair to our generations and most of those who are yet to benefit from his philanthropic gesture. Most of us here are in the UK today because of baba's gesture and why would anybody be wishing him dead?”
