Police raid Mushin’s notorious hemp joint - Nab 30-year-old father of four

Ojuelegba to Mushin, both in Lagos State, is about four kilometres, getting to Mushin from Ojuelegba on a busy day also takes at least forty-five minutes as a result of heavy traffic associated with the areas. Yet, Abayomi Samuel, a suspected Indian hemp merchant, who was arrested by the police a few days ago insisted that he had gone to Mushin from Ojuelegba to buy just N30 indian hemp.
The 30-year-old father of four, who hails from Sagamu in Ogun State was unlucky unlike other members of the gang, who escaped when a team of policemen from the Rapid Response Squad invaded Akala , a notorious Indian hemp joint in Mushin area of the state.
The suspect, while speaking with Crime File, confessed to have been a die-hard Indian hemp smoker, but denied selling the illicit drug while admitting that he was arrested at the sales point. In his words, “I have only gone to buy N30 Indian hemp when the police invaded the area and the cannabis merchants all ran away”
The suspect who claimed to be a footwear hawker while speaking with Crime File confessed to being a regular caller at the joint where he was arrested . The suspect also added that he had gone to buy from a certain “Lati,” a popular Indian hemp merchant in the area when the policmen stormed the area
Abayomi who claimed to be a resident of 106, Ojuelegba Road, said that on the ill-fated day of his arrest, there were scores of smokers and merchants in the area when the policemen came, but how others managed to escape baffled him.
However, the Nigerian Tribune gathered that the activities of Indian hemp merchants and smokers have constituted a nuisance, not only to the residents of Akala, but also to passersby as well as the entire residents of Mushin, following the series of clashes and police invasion of the area.
Speaking with the Crime File on the arrest, the image- maker of the state Police Command, Frank Mba, a Deputy Superintendent of Police disclosed that the state police command has concluded plans to have the suspect handed over to the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency for proper investigations and prosecution.
