HID extols Mrs. Ajasin’s qualities

MATRIARCH of Awolowo dynasty and Yeye Oodua, Chief (Mrs.) H.I.D. Awolowo, has described as shocking, the death of Chief (Mrs.) Babafunke Ajasin, wife of the late Chief Adekunle Ajasin.

Chief (Mrs.) Awolowo, in a condolence letter to the Ajasin family, thanked God that the late Babafunke Ajasin lived a fulfilled life.

“The good works, which she has left behind, should serve an anchor of fortitude for the children,” she said.

The matriarch of Awolowo family described the deceased as “a very gentle and amiable personage who stood by her husband through thick and thin in his earthly sojourn.

“I remember with fondness, the long political association between Chief Michael Adekunle Ajasin and my husband which necessitated my meeting with Chief (Mrs) Ajasin at different political and social fora.

“As a result of my interaction with her, I got to know that she was a good motivator and community leader who worked behind the scene. No wonder her husband’s tenure as governor of old Ondo State was an acclaimed success,” she said in the condolence letter.
