Experiencing His Glory

Whenever God wants to do a new thing, in His physical world, He starts things in the spiritual. Such divine interventions often require that the veil seperating the divine from the human are pulled back for a while, and the Supernatural is brought to the realm of men.

We can recall, countless instances of this type of event in the Bible, where God unveiled the supernatural for a moment.

Jacob’s ladder (Gen 28:10-19) Moses and the burning bush (Exo 3:1-10) Joshua and the captain of the host of heaven (Jos 5:13-15) Gideon and the Angel (Judges 6: 11-24) Samuel in the vision of the night (I Sam 3:1-14) Manoah’s wife and the angel (Judges 13:1-5) Zechariah (father of John the Baptist) and the angel (Luke 1 :5-20) Cornelius, Peter and revival among the Gentiles (Acts 10:1-16)

A similar thing is what happened in the time of Isaiah. A chain of events, which was to culminate in the advent of the Messiah, were about to begin. Isaiah was to be God’s mouthpiece; fore-telling and forth-telling of these events.

His was both a daunting and dangerous mission, and he needed nothing less than an indelible divine impression upon his soul. He needed to see God, the Holy One of Israel in a way he would never forget. Such an encounter would fill him with power and convictions for his all-important task. Hence the vision of Isa 6: 1-6.

King Uzziah of your life can be the enemy within or the enemy outside, said before. When he dies, a divine encounter is imminent.

It is not an ordinary encounter, it is the type that shall liberate you into your destiny. It will take you out of obscurity and put you on the path to glory.

How will God do it?.
First of all, he will cleanse you. This cleansing is at 2 levels. The first is the purging of sin. Isaiah 6:1-18. The second is the pruning or polishing for greater fruitfulness or higher service. John 15:1-13. Then he shall open your eyes or ears to a need in the kingdom, and give you opportunity to respond appropriately.

May we make a few comments here. Many of us miss the path God has for us because we neglect opportunities to serve. God wanted to make Isaiah great, but He said. “Whom shall I send, who will go for us?”

.... Had Isaiah not volunteered, saying “Here I am send me,” his name would not have been in the minds of great prophets of God today. It is important to learn to respond to needs in the church, and to respond to nudging/leadings of the Holy Spiritto serve in one way or the other in His Church.

What are the unmet needs, or the missing link in your church, in the society, etc.,- about which God seems to be saying, “Whom shall I send; who will go for us?” Will you arise and go for God? Will you say, “Here am I, send me.”
