Yar’Adua sends delegation to Chad. Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Bagudu M. Hirse.

Others were Senator N.B.N Amange and Honourable Tafa Umar.

In his message to his Chadian counterpart, President Yar’Adua condemned the attempt to seize power by rebels in the country.

He said there was the need for continued peace and stability in Chad and the sub-region, regretting that he made unsuccessful attempts to contact President Deby on the phone to sympathise with him on the situation.

On the problems relating to refugees that fled to Borno State, President Yar’Adua pledged government support in the best possible way to provide succour to the people.

The Chadian president said he was delighted by the concern shown by President Yar’Adua through such a high-level delegation.

He said his country’s infrastructure had been destroyed, citing telecom-munication system, schools, hospitals, banks as major casualties.
