12.05.2008
SUPER Eagles skipper, Kanu Nwankwo and his Porthsmouth team-mates would only earn £10,000-a-man if they win the FA Cup next week.
Although according to The Sunday Mail, Harry Redknapp side is not bothered about the money, but the players are hell bent on winning a silverware this season. And this, they know can only be done by winning the FA Cup this season.
It is one of the lowest cash incentives offered to finalists in recent years. But a Pompey insider told the Mail on Sunday: “It doesn’t seem a lot when you consider normal salaries, but nobody is screaming about it. The important thing is to win the Cup.”
Pompey have already accrued a club record total of Premier League points in a season, and could finish third in the top-flight campaign of 1954-55, and ninth in the Premier League last season.
Portsmouth is unbeaten in five Premier League matches against Fulham.
