Senate to reverse concessioning of Lagos Trade Fair complex

Indications emerged at the weekend that the Lagos Trade Fair Complex (LTFC), purportedly concessioned to Auli Nigeria Limited last year, may be reversed as the Senate has put machinery in motion to call all the stakeholders and the Federal Ministry of Commerce and Industry and Bureau of Public Enterprises (BPE) to come and testify before its committee on commerce on the bidding process which led to its final concessioning.

Speaking with newsmen after leading the members of the committee to inspect the complex, the Chairman, Senate Committee on Commerce, Senator Joel Danlami Nkenya, said the Federal Government would leave no stone unturned at ensuring that all the injustices done by the BPE in the concessioning were readdressed.

Senator Danlami said “ government is a serious business and we have seen people who are ready for serious business. The injustice done in the past will be revisited and the concessioning of the complex shall be handled carefully and we shall be on the side of justice.”

The inspection took place after the committee had listened to various submissions of stakeholders on the purported concessioning of the complex located on Badagry Expressway, Lagos.
