Pensioners storm bank, paralyse activities

Activities at the Apata Ib adan Branch of an old generation bank totally paralysed on Tuesday by the military pensioners when they prevented customers from entering the bank for transactions.

The Military pensioners who were about 300, started to converge at the entrance of the bank around 7.00am and stopped people from going into the bank, insisting that the bank officials would not be allowed to come out unless they are paid the monthly pension allowance which they alleged has being sent to the bank earlier in the month.

Speaking with the Nigerian Tribune, the spokesman of the pensioners, Mr. Hassan Remi, said other colleagues of theirs, who were using other branches of WEMA Bank around Ibadan have collected their allowances, but instead of them getting their, they were being tossed around by the officials of the bank since last week.
