PDP supporter attacked with acid

A supporter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kogi State, Mr. Friday Ameh, was on Monday, attacked with acid by people suspected to be loyalists of another party at Anyigba, in Dekina Local Government Area of the state.

According to Ameh, he was on the campaign train of the candidate of the party, Alhaji Ibrahim Idris, when some people accosted him on his motorcycle and ignorant of their plan, had to attend to them but the pepole poured a substance on him and immediately ran away.

He said the substance destroyed the T-shirt he was wearing and his body started peeling off before sympathisers rushed him to a private clinic for treatment.

The victim, said to be from Olamaboro Local Government Area of the state, was also said to have received the attention of the candidate, Alhaji Idris, who was said to have ordered that adequate medical attention be given to him.

A policeman at the divisional office in the area, who did not want his name in print, said the station had not received information about the incident but saidthe matter would be investigated.
