‘Fayose is envious of my integrity’

THE controversy generated by decision of the leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to suspend former Governor Ayo Fayose for alleged anti-party activities rages on, as the state chairman of the party, Hon. Bola Olu-Ojo, has ascribed the former governor’s verbal attack on his person to envy, borne out of his lack of integrity.

Reacting to his suspension, Fayose had on Friday said that he was the landlord of the PDP in Ekiti State, adding that the party chairman in the state was his boy, just as he boasted that nobody can suspend him from the party.

However, Olu-Ojo, in a statement issued in Ado-Ekiti on Friday stressed that it was mischievous on the part of the former governor to say that he (Olu-Ojo) was feeding him with information on the activities of the party and that of the state government.

“What did I gain under his administration as Central Senatorial Chairman to warrant my descending so low as to be a conduit leaking government and party information to him?”, Olu-Ojo asked.

He said that Fayose was bent on destroying him because he has seen the vibrancy in his leadership style coupled with his integrity and humility, which he said had resulted in the reconciliation of several erstwhile aggrieved party members in the state.
