I am not eyeing Yar’Adua’s job - David Mark

The Senate President, Senator David Mark, has denied insinuations that he was eyeing the presidency in case the election of President Umaru Yar’Adua was annulled at the tribunal. A statement on Sunday by the Special Adviser, Media and Publications, to the President of the Senate, Mr. Kola Ologbondiyan, stated that the allegation credited to former Senator Joseph Waku and published by an Abuja-based newspaper on Sunday was false.

The statement indicated: “We would have ignored Waku and his co-travelers given their penchant for lies and falsehood, but for the fact that his allegation touched on very sensitive issue.

“The President of the Senate has no influence whatsoever in the matters before the tribunal or any other tribunal sitting over electoral matters in the country,” Mr. Ologbondiyan said.

The statement added that the insinuation was only in the imagination of Senator Waku, whom he described as having “verbal diarrheoa.”
